Documenting Your Configuration

As previously mentioned, documenting system configuration is necessary for day-to-day administration and during service events and recovery procedures. Solstice DiskSuite software provides commands to save and recover the Solstice DiskSuite software configuration. In addition to backing up data on a regular basis, you should also back up the information required to re-create the configuration of your systems. This includes both volume manager-specific information, as well as general information about devices and the operating system (OS).
