Medicare, which is more formally known as Title XVIII of the Social Security Act (I don’t know about you, but I think that Roman numerals should be reserved for really important things, like Super Bowls), is a national system of health insurance for all recipients of Social Security who are at least 65 years old or disabled. Medicare eligibility is not based upon either your assets or your income.
