20 Draft Post–Foundation Profiles

When version 1.1 of the Bluetooth specification was released, it contained the same thirteen profiles which were released with version 1.0. These are sometimes called the foundation profiles, and whilst they provided a good start for product manufacturers, they could not cover all possible uses for Bluetooth devices.

To expand the range of profiles available, the Bluetooth SIG has a series of working groups which are developing new profiles. Profiles go through a series of drafts before they are finally adopted into the Bluetooth specification.
