14 The Telephony Control Protocol

Bluetooth’s Telephony Control protocol Specification (TCS) defines how telephone calls should be sent across a Bluetooth link. It gives guidelines for the signalling needed to set up both point to point, and point to multipoint calls. It also provides a way to send DTMF tones across a Bluetooth link. TCS is adapted from ITU-T Recommendation Q.931. Bluetooth also defines a subset of TCS called “lean TCS”.

The acronym used for telephony control does not fit in with the convention used in the rest of the Bluetooth stack.
