Chapter 6. Parenting Blogs

The blog phenomenon is a boon for parents and caregivers trying to remain sane while raising healthy children in the twenty-first century. According to a January 30, 2005, New York Times article on parents who blog, approximately 8,500 people are writing web logs about their children. That’s more than twice as many baby blogs as last year.

There’s so much to learn upon becoming a parent that one can become overwhelmed, and the Internet is an endless source of reliable and unreliable information. Blogs give parents a support system that’s immediately accessible and easy to read. Plus, the parent can obtain positive feedback and meaningful conversation that they may be too isolated or busy to get in the real world.
