Creating the chair seat with transformations

Assuming that you now have a fresh startup scene in Blender with the default cube, we can begin our modeling project. The first thing to do is turn our cube into a chair seat. How do we do this? We will use a scale transformation.

Select the cube with a right-click and press the S key to apply a scale. Limit the scale to the Z-axis by pressing the Z key. You will notice that your cube will scale based on your mouse movement.

Before you click anywhere to confirm your transformation, we can use an option in Blender to set a precise value for that scale. Whenever you have an ongoing transformation in Blender, you can type numeric values in your keyboard to give it an accurate transformation.
