Rendering still images

We now have a scene that has lights and real-time shadows, and we can render that into a still image. The first thing you have to know about rendering is that Blender only renders the view from our active camera.

To set your view to the active camera, you can use the small camera icon at the top right of your 3D View, highlighted in the following screenshot, or use the 0 key on the numpad. If you want to exit this view, you can either click on the camera icon again, or use the middle mouse button to orbit the scene:
