Working with gaps for strips

Having the Snap tool is excellent for aligning strips, but it might take you some time to repeat the process for a complex project. Another great way to remove space between strips is with the Remove Gaps option.

The tool will work with the Backspace key. You must keep the playback head to the left of your strips because Blender will consider all gaps to the right of your vertical line. With the playback head in place, select a strip and press the Backspace key.

By doing that, it will trigger the Remove Gaps tool and Blender will move the start of your selected strip to the end of the previous strip (Figure 2.12):
