Updating the footage source

Although you might not think that changing the footage source of a strip might become useful, you will find that such an option might give you an advantage when you must replace the file with an updated version. For instance, you might have an image that you edited, and it is already aligned, edited, and with effects in your Sequencer.

What if you realize that you must remove part of that image? If you could not change the source file, you would have to erase the strips and redo all the editing.

In the Strip Input field, you can use the Path option to pick a different source file for any Strip in the Sequencer (Figure 3.4):
