These key shortcuts should help you speed your work.

fn + down arrow

Shrinks the proportional editing circle on a Mac.

Shift + C

Resets 3D Cursor position to 0, 0, 0, and zooms out to show the entire scene.

Shift + X

If used with scaling (S) or moving (G), it restricts changes to the Y and Z axes.
