Black Belt Test

Now it’s time to test for the highest rank in negotiating, the black belt. To earn this honor, you must take all the skills you’ve learned and put them to use in a real-life situation, bargaining on a major purchase (more than $10,000). If you are not in the market for a car, boat, or house right now, find a friend who is and offer to negotiate on his or her behalf.

Once you have negotiated a big-ticket item, use the Belt Ranking Sheet in the appendix of this book to rate your negotiating skills.
