Find an antique store, collectible shop, or other retailer where the prices are generally flexible.

After you have completed your negotiation, rate yourself using the Belt Ranking Sheet in the appendix of this book. Ask yourself the following questions:

  1. How did you rate?

  2. What areas of negotiating did you excel at?

  3. What areas of negotiating do you need to work on?

  4. Did you notice a turning point in your negotiations?

  5. Did you see the turning point coming?

  6. Were there any unfair tactics used?

  7. If unfair tactics were used, which ones did you recognize?

  8. How did you deal with the unfair tactics?

  9. Was there any nibbling?

  10. How did you deal with nibbling?

Do not move on to the next chapter until you have at least achieved brown belt status on the Ranking ...
