MISTAKES CAN BE MAGIC

Knowing which images to keep is an extremely important part of the workflow process. One of the biggest discussions in almost all of my workshops is about deleting images in-camera, as I adamantly advocate a “no delete” policy. I think we often make images ahead of ourselves, and the possibility for realizing the artistic value of those images only exists over time. I adopted this policy after learning that one of Ansel Adams' most famous images, “Moonrise over Hernandez”, was not actually printed until many years after the image was captured.
