Understanding Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO: Their Relationship to Each Other and to Light

Understanding exposure is key to making great shots, and knowing how light works is key to this process. Light has quality, it has quantity, and it has direction. Understanding how digital cameras meter the light and knowing how to capture that light using the best combination of aperture, shutter speed, and ISO for the subject at hand is how we, as photographers, communicate our vision to others.
