Selected Applications

Abstract

This chapter gives many examples of applications of the theories described in the first part of the book. For instance, it deals with the heart and other organs as bioelectric sources. It also describes the measurement of electrodermal activity and its use in psychophysiology. Furthermore, skin diseases, impedance cardiography, imaging of the lungs (electrical impedance tomography), and measurement of body composition. Other topics are defibrillation and electroshock, electrosurgery, and pacemakers. Electrical safety is also treated.
