Chapter 6

Geometrical Analysis

Abstract

This chapter deals with how geometrical factors influence on how electrical signals are transferred in biomaterials or how different parts of a measured volume contribute, for example, to the measured impedance. The concept of sensitivity field distribution is described and numerical analysis such as the finite element method is introduced. An overview of electrical impedance tomography is also given.
