Owners can benefit greatly through the use of an as-built model as a project deliverable. Currently, one of the largest problems in dealing with end-of-project information is the huge amount of documentation owners are left to deal with. For example, submittals provide very specific information about a product on everything from door hardware to HVAC systems and include extensive data about equipment such as the manufacturer, warranty, and color. The larger and more complex the project, the more submittals and thus the more information owners have to deal with. Specifications are another example of end-of-project data.
