9.2.3. Self-guided usability testing: Discussion and conclusions

In general, we were pleased with the results we obtained using self-guided usability testing. It complemented our other methods, allowing us to collect in-use feedback from early adopters on critical new areas of Lotus Notes 8. We succeeded in getting useful feedback from 24 additional people and identifying 72 usability issues that we hadn't seen before.

It's useful to compare self-guided usability testing to more traditional lab testing.
