9.2.1. Methodology

For self-guided usability testing, we tested Lotus Notes 8 beta—an early version of the code, available only to companies participating in the beta program.

Tasks

We developed a series of tasks around six main areas of Lotus Notes, areas that saw the largest feature changes. The tasks walked the participants through end-user features of Lotus Notes and then asked for specific feedback about those tasks. The tasks focused on the highest priority issues in each area. Our intention was that each set of tasks would take about a half hour to complete. The breakdown of each task set and number of tasks are shown in Table 9.5.
