What is Beyond Mentoring?

This book is called Beyond Mentoring. But what does that mean? When we talk about mentoring, we usually talk about one-on-one relationships formed through a program of some sort. As cochair of the American Library Association (ALA) Library Leadership and Management Association Mentoring Committee, I have seen how a traditional program works. One mentor is paired with one mentee.
