Break Stories Into Tasks

Stories describe an observable behavior in a system, but they may be too involved or too big to do within a two-week iteration. Break it down further into general work items called tasks.

The ideal task is something that takes about four hours to complete, but often, for a variety of reasons, tasks can take days or even weeks to complete.

People who live in the city know that most tasks, even trivial ones, take at least four hours. If you want to go buy a pair of shoes, if you want to go out and do whatever, it’s always going to take at least four hours. And I always think about that when I think of a task.
