Demand Technical Excellence

It’s no secret what at least some of the original authors of the Agile Manifesto think about Agile adoption. During the ten-year reunion of the Agile Manifesto, Jeff Sutherland said the number one key success factor for Agile adoption is to demand technical excellence.

Although the Agile Manifesto states, “Continuous attention to technical excellence and good design enhances agility,” in retrospect many of the Agile Manifesto authors felt technical excellence wasn’t stressed strongly enough and that “demanding technical excellence is the top priority for the next ten years.”[23]
