The easiest way to create a Russian web page is with a Russian operating system and Russian software. But assuming you don’t have the budget or the patience to install an entirely new system, this chapter focuses on the easiest and cheapest workarounds for Windows users. Mac users can follow along; although the software and steps vary, the strategies are still valuable.
Your choice of tools is limited to those that support Cyrillic characters. Fortunately, Word 97 and 2000 do support Cyrillic characters, regardless of whether you’re using the Windows 98, ME, or XP operating system.
