GLOBALLY USABLE; LOCALLY ACCEPTABLE

When designing for the world, be sensitive to the practical demands of each locale. An animation-free site might not win you any design awards, but it will load faster in India. Also, be sensitive to the cultural demands of each locale. Germans may find your web design clever, while Japanese find it confusing. If you want your design to be effective, you need to understand the visual languages of the world— not just how people speak, but how they see.
