All this talk about machine translation and the march of technology can make translators a little nervous. It’s not easy working in a profession where so many companies want to replace you with computers, but translators need not worry. Just as desktop publishing tools didn’t put designers out of business 15 years ago, computer-aided translation tools won’t put translators out of business. If anything, these tools will make the translators who know how to use them more valuable, not less.
