News and Current Affairs

Every country in the world seems to have numerous TV news stations and 24 hour rolling TV news is commonplace. Running alongside these many news shows are hosts of web sites going into further detail about each item and story of the day and are updated frequently. Both the TV and web sites have a voracious appetite for pictures and content to fill them, and video work varies from straightforward news gathering, quick interviews, live hits, doorstepping politicians, and covering press conferences to high-quality, stylish interviews and setups (Figures 13.1 and 13.2 ).
