Action verbs tell what the subject does, did, or will do.

Adjective clauses are subordinate clauses that are also called relative clauses because the subordinator “relates” the rest of the subordinate clause to a noun or pronoun in the main clause. The subordinate clause acts like an adjective modifying that part of the main clause by adding information about it.

Adjectives make nouns or pronouns more specific or concrete by limiting and describing them.

Adverb clauses are subordinate clauses that are introduced by a subordinator, which specifies time, place, cause, condition, or contrast when indicating the relationship between the main and the subordinate clause.
