CONCLUSION

The systematic approach used in the Colorado region has provided a consistent framework to identify and develop leaders. It is successful in the fact that it supports the executive team’s development of their direct reports, which drives their sponsorship for the leadership succession planning strategy. This process is only three years old, and it is still evolving. The systems are continually evaluated and updated for effectiveness.
