Team Members Are Dedicated to a Project 100% of the Time

So how does a team move away from multitasking? The first practice is establishing a firm commitment to dedicating people to a team 100 percent of the time. It makes much more sense to dedicate two people with a particular, needed skill to a team 100 percent of the time than it does having, say, five people available only 50 percent of the time (assuming you’re convinced of our reasoning, that is). And this also means that you should not regularly be moving people around from team to team during a release cycle. Keeping teams intact throughout a release helps build desired team synergy. You can read more about the benefits of “whole teams” in Chapter 1.
