Stop Starting; Start Finishing

Multitasking is inherently inefficient; jettison the idea that it is somehow an efficient way to work. Instead, adopt the agile mentality of “Stop starting; start finishing!” Starting tasks is only useful in telling you what you have ahead of you. The example I like is when I’m on a plane working through my email inbox. There are practically no interruptions, so not only do I pay attention to what I read, but also I respond to and delete messages quickly so that I empty my inbox. It feels good to get to that point, and it typically happens only when I can spend uninterrupted time focusing on my email.
