For a very long time, there was a constant struggle between film and video. Film was seen as the ultimate visual art form and video was seen as the fast-food of motion pictures. Even those who worked, daily, in the video industry—news, live television, documentaries— often looked up to the filmmakers who shot 35mm film, as the crème-de-la-crème. There were those who believed that video would someday replace film, and those who laughed at that idea.
