JOINING THE APP HUB

From the App Hub home page at http://create.msdn.com, click the Join button to go into the membership section of the site. Membership is linked to a Windows Live ID, so you will be prompted to either log in with an existing ID or sign up for a new one when you proceed with the registration. If you choose the latter, you will need to return to the App Hub registration page after verifying your Windows Live ID e-mail address.

After you have signed in with your Windows Live ID, the first step of the registration is selecting the country in which you want to do business, and the type of membership. The country is usually where you live, but if you are registering a company that's based in another country, you can choose that. This is the country where Microsoft will send revenue for app purchases, and you'll be responsible for paying any taxes in that country.

MEMBERSHIP TYPES

Company membership is for companies that are registered with their local government, and are planning on publishing apps on behalf of the company entity. At the time of writing, only one App Hub account can be created for a company.
