CHAPTER 1 EXERCISE ANSWERS

Following are the answers to the Exercises in Chapter 1.

Answer to Question 1

These challenges originate from the fact that people working on a LOB application development project have different mindsets.

  • The requirements of a LOB application should be carefully collected and communicated within the project to ensure that the right application is being developed.
  • Key users must be provided with feedback about how you understand their expectations, and you need their feedback about the pieces of your application to check if you are constructing the software they really need.
  • You must find the optimal feedback frequency to gain the most from the communication surrounding the construction phases. For example, you need to obtain feedback about UI imaginations more often (for example, twice a week) than about results of slight implementation changes (for example, twice a month).

Answer to Question 2

A wireframe is a prototype that depicts the layout of the fundamental elements in the user interface (UI). It contains only a simple graphical design, because its aim is to focus on the structure and content elements. Neglecting the detailed graphical design allows key users to grab the structural details.
