Appendix C. Creating Graphics for Mobile Games

Even though mobile games are constrained in terms of screen size and resolution, a game’s graphical appearance is the first impression a user has of the game. And although I’ll still argue that game play is the ultimate measure of how engaging a mobile game is, weak graphics can limit the success of an otherwise cool game. For this reason, it’s important for you to take the time to carefully create graphics and animation for your games that are sure to catch someone’s attention. The good news is that the size restrictions on mobile game graphics make it a little easier to create mobile game graphics than graphics for PC or console games.
