The JavaScript API

With the rise of HTML5 there has been a corresponding rise in the use of JavaScript to extend the functionality of the various elements on a web page. In fact, it is becoming increasingly rare to see an HTML5 page that doesn’t include a link to a JavaScript document or library in the header or elsewhere in the document.
