Chapter 4. Text and Font Rendering

Text doesn’t seem like it is going to be that useful when you’re writing games; it is a minor feature that doesn’t really affect the game. Or is it? Text is used for more than just the title screen or the scrolling credits you see when you’ve completed a game. Text can be very useful when you have to give the player instructions, designate the goals of the game, or let the user know how many gold coins he has in his inventory.
