ASP.NET's membership features give you several high-level services that work with the basic form authentication and Windows authentication systems you learned about in Chapter 20.

In this chapter, you saw how to use membership to maintain a database of users, either with the free SQL Server 2005 Express Edition or with another version of SQL Server. You also learned how to use the prebuilt security controls, which give you a convenient and flexible way to add user management features and organize secure content.
