Steppers and Robots

You are now going to take a quick look at a new type of motor called a stepper motor. Project 28 is a simple project to show you how to control the stepper, make it move a set distance, and change the speed and direction. Stepper motors are different than standard motors in that their rotation is divided up into a series of steps. By making the motor rotate a set number of steps, you can control the speed of the motor and how much it turns fairly precisely. Stepper motors come in different shapes and sizes and have four, five, or six wires.
