Hello, World! Welcome to Beginning App Development with Parse and PhoneGap. We wrote this book to help anyone who wants to build native mobile applications, but may be missing knowledge about advanced programming languages and techniques that are required to do so.
Traditionally, building a native mobile application involved learning multiple programming languages: Objective C (iOS) or Java (Android) for building your program logic and a server language such as PHP or .NET to build your application server. You also needed to learn a database language like MySQL. With Parse and PhoneGap, you use a single language to conquer all aspects: JavaScript.
