2.6. Summary
Although it remains to be seen who will be the dominant force in RIA (Rich Internet Applications) and RDA (Rich Desktop Applications), Adobe certainly has a nice head start, with Flex being a mature product and AIR on the way. The large profiles of the other companies putting resources toward gaining market share will only accelerate the spread of RIA and RDA.
The next Chapter will examine the languages involved in creating AIR applications, including ActionScript 3, MXML, HTML, and JavaScript.
