15.1. About the Safari WebKit

WebKit is an open source web browser engine that is hosted at http://webkit.org. WebKit is also the name of the Mac OS X system framework version of the engine that's used by Safari, Dashboard, Mail, and many other OS X applications. Recently the Safari browser, which uses the WebKit engine, was tested as the fastest browser in the world. Having WebKit as the engine for AIR's HTML parsing ensures a fast and consistent experience for any HTML content being used within your AIR applications.
