Summary

During this chapter, you have been introduced to .NET. You had an overview on what exactly .NET and managed code is, and wrote a simple application in the two languages this book will cover. You also learned to compile these applications outside the integrated development environment. The basics for getting started in game development were covered, and you learned about the developers that want to do game development (all of them), some of the processes that need to be followed, and tools of the trade.

The next chapter introduces game development.
