APPENDIX II: CAN-DO SPIRIT VITALS CHECKUP

Here’s a simple strategy you can use to identify the kinds of tasks and projects that will help you develop a can-do spirit at work.

1.  Think of two or three projects or activities you have participated in over the past five years that really turned you on. Not just at work but in any aspect of your life.

2.  Think of two or three projects or activities you’ve tried that really turned you off.

To better understand why you found these activities highly energizing or very demotivating, try reflecting on them as you answer the following questions. Your answers will give you insights into the VITALS that are important to you.
