CHAPTER SUMMARY

In this chapter I have explored the five secrets of value creators in the context of Finance. The meaning of value in Finance often gets interpreted in classic Control quadrant terms—reporting financial information through the organizational hierarchy and controlling costs and processes. The development of multiple value-creation perspectives and positioning Finance more effectively in the Collaborate and Create quadrants is particularly difficult because Finance has to wear the two conflicting hats of strategic partnership and control.
