Chapter 6. The Database Control

Many Web services act as a front end to a database. That is, some Web services simply act as a means to store data in the database and to retrieve it. Other Web services use a database as part of the overall application functionality. In these cases, the database can contain vital application data, but the Web service provides data validation and additional business logic.
