This chapter discusses the architecture of your WebLogic domain. The basic architecture consists of firewall, load balancer, server, and database. It is possible to break out the object layer as well, but doing so incurs cost for both the administrator and the developer. In particular, the multitier architecture requires that your application be implemented with replica-aware stubs.
