Never Talk Badly About Customers with Customers

Gossip. Bad mouthing. Trash talking. No matter what you call it, it’s unprofessional and unpleasant. In Chapter 27, we discussed professionalism and touched on the negative aspects of workplace and break-room gossip. Speaking about customers negatively with coworkers is bad enough, but let’s be honest, it’s going to happen on occasion. Some customer situations are so crazy that you’d have to be a robot not to talk about them. However, if you feel the need to talk about a challenging customer situation with someone, there’s one line you should never, ever cross: talking badly about one customer with another customer.
