The Clothes Make the Rep

Whether you wear your own clothes to work or a company uniform, the appearance of your clothing makes a huge difference in how customers perceive you and your company. As we will discuss in Chapter 32, customers make snap, subconscious judgments as soon as they see you, meaning you are being judged on how you look (and how you sound). Facial expressions, hair, posture, and tattoos all impact how someone perceives you and how they judge your likability and competence. Among the biggest impacts on the impression you make is your clothing. As was once captured in the title of a 1980s business book, you have to dress for success.
