This section includes terms from legal aspects of computing and terms relating to the security and control of data in computer systems.

Modern society is very dependent on computer systems and the data they contain. This dependence provides opportunities for antisocial behaviour ranging from the annoying to the criminal. This section considers security measures and legislation that attempt to deal with computer abuse.

Computer abuse describes a wide range of behaviour, such as:
