12 Lighting on location

Having looked in some detail at how we might build an ideal theoretical lighting system represented by ‘three-point lighting’ we now move on to the problem of how to achieve that lighting, or some other design that will provide good shots, in real circumstances.

With increasing equipment portability, and the need for reality, an increasing number of productions will now include sections of material that have been shot away from the studio. Anywhere outside the controlled environment of the studio is known as ‘location’.
